So, this is my "Roller Banner" design, hopefully I'll get to have printed and displayed behind my table when I attend conventions round the UK as an Artist next year.
I don't really do typography and design, but stuck with a fitting "movie" font and simple red hues mixed with black and white.
Thank you to ShyFonts over at dafont.com for the movie font: [link]
I'd love to hear your opinions with my design work. Imagine this is going to be 850mm by 2000mm and does it stand out and strike you? Do you like the colours? What needs to be improved etc. I have plenty of time to work on this, just wanted to start early! I chose to use 3 of my most popular and favourite drawings for it But do you have any other suggestions?
Since I can't write because I'm no Premium member, I'll have to do with the regular comment.
I'm sure it'll will stand out at the size it's going to be. The works, you picked: great choice! Love the movie font, and the layout, gives it a sort of playfulness. I personally feel the red background not very fitting for Jack. Maybe all three drawings a different background colour. Maybe BJ blue, Jack purple and Edward red, so it sort of flows from one shade in one pic to another in the next. I hope you understand what I mean. (It's just personal taste I think. If it were my banner I would've chosen the works in their original colours.)
Thank you for your thoughts and suggestions! I know what you mean, though. I guess a blood-red sky *does* look a bit foreboding, but I liked that was so much red centrally and I just wanted to keep it very simple with minimal colours. I'm hoping the printing company has my CD by now so it will be printed next week!
Thanks Nigel! This stuff (the prints, stamps, stickers and banner) is costing me a small fortune, but I think it's money well spent, hopefully I might see some sort of return at events next year! Not sure if it will mean I can give up my day job, but it's nice to have a bit of extra cash from being noticed and recognised at events, I suppose!
