Hylian Shield Pillow by tavington Hylian Shield Pillow by tavington
Just look at the soft, squishy shield!
I was commissioned to make a pillow version of my Hylian Shield backpack
I used the same patterns as my backpack, here:

Sorry for the bad phone photo, it's all I snapped before sending it off to its new owner.

Materials used:
-Anti-pill fleece in red, grey, royal blue and yellow
-Sewing threads in the same colours
-Packed with soft toy stuffing
-Silver buttons for rivet decoration

Progress shot here:

These are available to buy. Please note me for more details.

I need to go ahead and get an embroidery machine already @_@

You don't technically need an embroidery machine.
This is just a zig zag stitch.
I have to physically guide the material and turn it around corners.

You just need to make your your machine has a good quality, heavy duty motor.
Janome machines are great for this, and it's worth paying that extra bit if you're going to sew lots of layers or thick fabric like this.

would that type of sewing machine be good for sewing through layers of fleece with a straight stitch? I use fleece a lot in my hats that I make

Straight stitch isn't usually a problem with most machines, it's all down to the motor and how many layers it can actually get through

I know that, that's what I meant :p I've been sewing since I was little and my grandmother is the one that taught me, I just don't know much about which motors are strong and better for this kind of thing (and which machines they are found in)

I just know that Janome is a great brand, and far superior to Singer.
You won't go wrong if you invest in a machine around 300+

My grandmother recently gave me a machine, probably after we had been talking. The brand is Kenmore, and it looks old but big and sturdy. =) I have to get some needles and bobbins for it but if it works for me I will keep it, otherwise I may look into Janome. Thank you!

Thank you so much!
A bit more tricky than the material used for the bag, but still doable with nice results :)
