Epona Plushie by tavington Epona Plushie by tavington
This was an interesting commission for =TheTurnerPack who wanted a plushie of Epona from The Legend of Zelda.

I chose her Ocarina of Time appearance (my fave game of ALL TIME!)

She was sooo difficult! ;___;

I've never tried to make a horse before, and it certainly was a challenge! I think it was the pattern mainly, and getting her back legs, mane and tail looking ok.

She stands 6 inches tall and is 8 inches from nose to tail

Here's some stats as to what she's made from:

-Real suede body with poly fibre filling (I picked suede because I liked the material, and the colour was just right...soo hard to turn inside out though!)
-Mane and tail made from white yarn
-Felt saddle and hoof detail
-Painted nose and eyes
-She also has wire running through her legs so you can move them around a little bit to get her to balance ok.

She looks so adorable and huggable! Would you make one for yourself to match the link you planned to make?

Thank you Helen! Yes, I might do! I actually JUST picked up a proper pattern for a horse yesterday, so I could scan it and blow it up if I wanted to make it bigger. Though she'd probably end up pretty massive! XD

I love her!! Thanks so much! I hope you enjoyed making her! She's perfect!

And OoT is my favorite game too! lol I can't wait for the 3DS version to come out! Though I have beaten that game too many times to count, I'm always up to play it again! haha

I'm so pleased that you like her! I was a little nervous at one time, as I only then realised how difficult it was! I will get it posted today (Thursday), though with the Royal Wedding and Bank Holiday on Monday, it might be delayed a little!

And I'm about half way through Masterquest! I'm really enjoying it! I'm saving up for my 3DS when Ocarina is released! I might even go to a midnight launch and take Ganondorf and Zelda with me! I'm sure they'd enjoy it too! Roll on 17th June!

eee i salute you on this! it looks great and combines what i think are a few of the hardest things to pull off; quadripeds, suede, and individually-stranded hair. the suede itself is hard to contain because it pops up if there's any sort of loose seam and then combine it with the fact that you have to catch each bit of yarn in the mane in the seam and i would've had a total brain meltdown. outstanding job though, especially on the saddle details!

Thank you so much!

At first I thought it was going to be a breeze, it was only looking into it more closely that I went: "Ah....D:"

I'm pretty pleased with it though for a first attempt! I think if I do another though, it should be a lot bigger, might make things a bit easier!
