Drums and Percussion - Ghirahim by tavington Drums and Percussion - Ghirahim by tavington
A new take on my magazine covers, this time with a musical theme. ^_~

(Thanks to everyone who liked and still likes my Playgirl covers! More of them coming soon!)

Based on the German magazine “Drums & Percussion”
Oh, Ghirahim you suave Demon Lord, you...

*So how many of you actually get what this is about? ^_^
I'm a little ashamed to say I haven't completed Skyward Sword yet. I will soon, I promise!

Oh why, I do believe I now love Ghirahim more than ever before
And you really should complete it! The ending is very pleasing! But when it says if you want to do it in hero mode - make sure you have a duplicate save file because it deletes EVERYTHING. *cries in the corner*
I have to complete it all again in hero mode - twice as hard with no heart drops. . . . I bought a new rpg game to quelch my anger xD

The artwork does actually blow up to A3 poster size quite well! I can also laminate it oo. I have noticed it brings out the vibrant colours a lot more too! If you are at all interested, please don't hesitate to drop me a line!

This is a nice piece of work that continues wonderfully with the theme of the Playgirl/general magazine covers that you have been exploring previously. This latest rendition is nicely approached and you certainly seem to have expanded upon your cover content, anatomy and use of the body language and themes that you've presented here. On first glance it is clear that you have understood much more in the body language and presenting much more in the form and structure than before. The way you've presented him from an angle has a much stronger impact and have certainly given you more space to work with him arms and legs and to give him much more of an impact than presenting him solely straight towards the viewer. You have gained a much tighter eye for male anatomy and really beginning to express much more in body language, giving him a more striking appeal than compared to previous pieces of work in a similar field. Though it feels that some more tweaking and tightening could be made in some areas (such as the way he holds the two bags in his palms) you have never the less shown the birth of new skill that is laying within your hands.

Colouring is nicely approached and this cell shading method is really becoming much sharper and vivid than anything else. It allows for the anatomy and facial expression to really say everything, but adds that nice extra layer of sweetness to the design without taking away all the charm from the anatomy.

Keep it up.

Thank you very much for the very elaborate comment!
I do enjoy doing these covers very much.
The reason I draw and colour them this way though, is mainly down to my lack of patience and skill in the field of digital art. Not only that, my computer needs to be replaced this year, the processor speed is really putting me off doing any digital work at all. These covers are spur-of-the-moment fun pieces that don't take me longer than a few hours complete from start to finish.

I have been researching the male figure a lot more (this pose was actually a woman, but with Ghirahim being so svelt, you can get away with that!) as well as ways of making legitimate looking covers (for my job I deal with text placement and attention to detial on things a lot, so I never let the smallest of things pass me by, usually!)

I appreciate the view and positive feedback!
It means a lot to me that people are still viewing my newer work after all these years ^__^ I wish I could answer a lot more of them (I have over 2,000 comments to look through now!) but sadly I don't get as much time as I used to. I still cherish them all the same, and I read every single one.

Glad it put a smile on your face Donna, certainly seems your moving on up in the world with your work and finding your talents and calling with your work. I'm sure it makes Benji proud to see just what you can do with these covers and the excellent taste that you both shareXD.
